The soon-to-be-replaced VW New Beetle Convertible has caught the attention of Bavarian foil specialist Car Film Components (CFC), which has revealed a rather artsy-looking tuning proposal. The highlight of the tune is of course the exterior with certain parts of the body including the doors, side panels, hood and bonnet covered in a velvet black wrap while the front and rear bumpers, the wheel arches and the rocker panels are draped in a sticker like motif. GP de Mônaco 2011 - Bravo!!

Naturalmente, tinha que ser em Mônaco a corrida de hoje. Porque hoje, em especial, a Fórmula 1 mostrou ser aquele espetáculo que exigimos que a Fórmula 1 seja: um bando de pilotos destemidos que sentam nos melhores carros do mundo para correr onde muita gente teria medo até de andar de bicicleta.

Mas não só isso. O que se viu, durante a prova, de manobras arriscadas, de desempenhos exemplares, de arrojo, veio em uma quantidade estratosférica e de quase todos os pilotos do grid.

Não quero individualizar, citar tal ou tal manobra. Na disputa pela liderança, a briga foi tal que qualquer um dos que subiram ao pódio - Vettel, Alonso e Button - poderia ter vencido. A bandeira vermelha e a liberação da troca de pneus tornaram o trabalho de Vettel mais fácil, mas, de todas as vitórias do ano, esta foi a mais contingente, a que mais dependeu do fator acaso e menos do equipamento que tinha em mãos e de seu próprio talento.

Fora do triunvirato, é impossível não citar Lewis Hamilton, um piloto que não cabe na Fórmula 1, quanto mais nas estreitas ruas do principado. Ele passa por cima, por fora, por onde tiver dois centímetros sobrando e, se for preciso, bate o carro mesmo. É excepcional. Hoje, exagerou, mas, fique claro, a colisão que tirou Massa da corrida nada teve a ver com o inglês. A Hamilton o que é de Hamilton.

SANGUE, SUOR E LÁGRIMAS
O outro lado da moeda de uma prova espetacular é que ela frequentemente esbarra na fragilidade da condição humana. 'Esbarrar', no caso de Mônaco, com os guard-rails tão próximos, só pode ser dito no sentido literal.
