Tura was the daughter of a Japanese dad, and Cheyanne Scot-Irish mom. Had puberty at 8, and was a target of male hormones the rest of her life, silent film star Harold Lloyd didn't know she was only 13 when he was photographing her nude, and told her she was a natural beauty that would make it in Hollywood films.

Porsche is proud to present the new Porsche 911 Carrera, a completely new generation of the iconic coupe that has been acclaimed as one of the world's benchmark sports cars since its launch in 1963.
Tradition meets modernity
True to the 911 tradition, the distinctive Porsche design language exudes power and elegance. The unmistakable silhouette still catches the eye while incorporating new, exciting contours and precisely designed details; a 100mm longer wheelbase for improved stability and greater interior space; front and rear overhangs are shorter, maintaining the compact footprint that has been a longstanding 911 attribute; the sporting stance is emphasised by the lower roof line and a wider front track increases on-road presence further still while raising the renowned chassis dynamics.

The rear-mounted, flat six cylinder engine is an equally symbolic component of the 911 identity; and behind the rear axle of the new car lies an uprated range of powerful, efficient and evocative 'boxer' engines. The Porsche 911 Carrera is powered by a new 3.4-litre engine developing 350 hp, and the Carrera S features a 400 hp version of the familiar 3.8-litre. These new engines offer performance improvements for both models. The 3.4-litre Carrera with PDK accelerates from 0-62mph in 4.6 sec, 0.1 sec quicker than the prior model. Pressing the Sport Plus button on the optional Sport Chrono Pack cuts that to 4.4 sec. The 3.8-litre Carrera S with PDK can accelerate from 0- 62 mph in 4.3 sec (Sport Plus 4.1 sec), 0.2sec quicker than its predecessor.

Porsche Celebrates 10th Anniversary in China with Special Edition 911 Turbo S

Decorative Overkill on a Porsche Cayenne SUV

While never mainstream, car decorations in the broadest sense of the word have always appealed to certain people. However, this is something you expect to see on an old, probably run down, conventional vehicle and not on a fairly new upscale model like the first generation Porsche Cayenne SUV….

The absurdly decorated German SUV with the Ontario license plates is covered in stickers, badges, chrome add-ons, reflectors and toys. We even managed to discover a few LED spotlights on the SUV's hood. Talk about overkill… More photos in the gallery after the jump.

Porsche Releases Details on All-Electric Boxster E RWD and AWD Prototypes

Back in February, Porsche announced the development of three pure-electric prototypes based on the Boxster roadster, but aside from a single photo and the fact that the electric motors could produce up to 180kW/241HP, the Stuttgart-based automaker did not release any other details on the cars.

After the demonstration of the Boxster E at last week’s Michelin Challenge Bibendum in Berlin, the company decided to share more information on the test cars that are being used as part of the government-funded “Model Region Electro-Mobility Stuttgart” large-scale trial to study the everyday practicality of all-electric vehicles. Of the three Boxster E prototypes, two are rear-wheel drive and one is all-wheel drive.

SCOOP: 2013 Porsche Cayman Shows up on the Track

These are some of the very first spy shots of the next generation Porsche Cayman sports coupe snagged while performing the usual tests on the track. As is the case with the current Cayman, the German firm’s entry-level coupe will be based on the Boxster, the third generation of which is currently undergoing development and has been covered extensively by Carscoop. A Porsche mostra imagens oficiais do 911 Carrera 4 GTS, que será vendido inicialmente na Alemanha a partir de julho deste ano.

O motor é o 3.8 aspirado de 408 cavalos o mesmo do GTS, com o cambio seqüencial de dupla embreagem ou manual, ambos com 6 marchas, que o levam de 0 a 100 km/h em 4,56 segundos.

As rodas são de 19 polegadas, spoiler dianteiro SportDesign em preto, saias laterais, moldura traseira. O interior é revestido em couro Alcantara.

Porsche 918 Spyder - masina care va intra deja in garajul a doi romani

Doi clienţi Porsche din România sunt interesaţi sa cumpere cate un Porsche 918 Spyder în viitorul apropiat, potrivit automarket.ro.

În cazul în care cei doi vor cumpara acest nou model, aceştia vor intra într-un club select, care va avea doar 918 membri. Fiecare dintre cei 918 clienţi de Porsche 918 Spyder va trebui să plătească cel puţin 645.000 de euro pentru cel mai rapid, puternic, ecologic şi scump model Porsche creat vreodată. Suma, destul de piperată, va trebui achitată integral înainte de livrarea maşinii.

Noul Porsche 918 Spyder va avea două locuri şi dispune de un sistem de propulsie format dintr-un motor V8 de 500 CP acompaniat de două unităţi electrice (câte una pe fiecare punte) care împreună pot dezvolta 218 CP.

Sistemul hibrid este unul nemaiîntâlnit în industria auto de serie. Astfel, deşi consumul mediu mixt al modelului german va fi de doar 3.0 litri/100 km, performanţele sale sunt unele de top: 3.2 secunde pentru 0-100 km/h, viteză maximă de 320 km/h.

Da série "o que um piloto tinha de saber fazer": Jo Siffert, trocando pneu

A insólita cena acima, um piloto trocando o pneu do próprio carro, em algum lugar da pista, aconteceu durante os 1000 km de Spa de 1971. O Gulf Porsche 917K número 24, da equipe John Wyer, é de Jo Siffert, que aparece segurando o macaco.

Em tempo: ao longo dos próximos dias, o blog entra num ritmo de postagens mais lento. Agradeço pela compreensão.

Indie Rocks – Scuderia Filipinetti, GP da Alemanha, 1962

O nome Filipinetti é frequentemente associado às competições de carros esporte, mas também participou de Grandes Prêmios, principalmente durante o ano de 1962, no qual foi fundada.

Sua criação, em Genebra, se deu por Georges Filipinetti, um rico revendedor da Ferrari em seu país. A imprensa local, sobretudo o jornalista Henri-François Berchet, o convenceu de montar uma estrutura para que um jovem promissor suíço pudesse ser lançado na Fórmula 1: Jo Siffert. Ele faria suas primeiras corridas com um Lotus 21-Climax e um Lotus 24-BRM, de propriedade de Filipinetti.

Mas a equipe alinharia outros carros e outros pilotos também, todos helvéticos. Um dos menos famosos foi Heini Walter, fotografado acima durante o GP da Alemanha de 1962. De fato, foi o único GP da sua vida, no qual largou e chegou em décimo quarto a bordo de uma Porsche 718. A equipe chegou a inscrevê-lo para o GP do Mediterrâneo, alguns dias depois, em Enna (não-válido para o mundial), mas uma suspensão quebrada impediu sua participação.

Embora amador, Walter conquistou relativo sucesso em sua carreira nos carros de turismo. Foi inclusive campeão europeu de subida de montanha em 1961. Faleceu aos 82 anos, em maio deste ano.

A Scuderia Filipinetti privilegiou desde o começo as competições de turismo, deixando os monopostos de lado após um curto período. Com as rodas cobertas obteve muito mais êxito e fama. Encerrou suas operações após a morte de seu fundador, em 1973.
